History
In the 15th century Khan Jahan Ali built the city of Khalifatabad — the Mosque City became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985; the Sundarbans followed in 1997.
How to get there
4–5 hours by bus from Dhaka. Going deep into the Sundarbans requires a Forest Department permit and a registered tour operator.
