History
Pala king Dharmapala built Somapura Mahavihara in the 8th century — a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. Kusumba Mosque appears on the 5-taka note.
How to get there
5–6 hours by bus from Dhaka; the nearest station to Paharpur is Jamalganj (Joypurhat).
