Culture

Seat of the Chakma king. The Boisabi festival in April and the Kathin Chibar Dan at Rajban Vihara.

History

The Kaptai dam built in the 1960s created the huge lake and submerged old Rangamati town. Bir Sreshtho Munshi Abdur Rouf's grave is at Naniarchar.

How to get there

7–8 hours by bus from Dhaka; 2.5 hours from Chattogram. Sajek is reached via Khagrachhari.
